We are delighted to welcome a new Fundraising Group to our family, the Andy B Fundraising Group.
Andrew Bath was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) brain tumour in 2017. He underwent surgery, as well as radiotherapy and chemotherapy, but sadly passed away just 10 months later, aged 37.
Andy B was set up by his parents, Lynn and Alan, and sister, Amy. They will be raising money for Brain Tumour Research in Andy’s memory and to honour his wish that more research into brain tumours could prevent others from experiencing the devastation that they cause.
The Group has already undertaken a variety of online fundraising activities during 2020. As well as setting up Facebook fundraisers for Andrew and other family members’ birthdays, they also took part in our virtual Wear A Hat Day.
In 2021, the family plan to run several fundraising events and have set themselves a goal to raise £5,500 to sponsor two days of research at one of our Centres of Excellence.
We look forward to an exciting future working closely with Andy B as an official Brain Tumour Research Fundraising Group to help find a cure for this devastating disease.
