Global brain tumour community unites for Brain Tumour Patients’ Charter

1 min read

Brain Tumour Research is today joining more than 70 organisations around the world in endorsing a new Brain Tumour Patients’ Charter of Rights. The Charter sets out the rights to which all brain tumour patients and caregivers should be entitled wherever they live. Ultimately, the goal of the Charter is to achieve the best possible health and quality of life for adults, children and adolescents living with brain tumours by encouraging and supporting quality standards, policies, and practices.

Kathy Oliver, Chair of the International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA) and one of the members of the Charter drafting group said: “The Charter is the result of a truly global collaborative process to help people who are diagnosed with this devastating disease, and those who care for them and treat them.”

Aspects of the charter of particular relevance to the UK will form part of our future campaigning agenda and we are delighted to have invited Kathy Oliver to address the autumn meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Brain Tumours.

You can read and download the Charter here.

This is a vital piece of work and we congratulate and thank Kathy and everyone at IBTA for their hard work and dedication.
