As a Public Collections Volunteer, you’ll be at the forefront of our fundraising efforts, engaging with the public to raise crucial funds for Brain Tumour Research. By standing outside busy locations with a collection bucket and card machine, you’ll help increase awareness and support for our vision to find a cure for all types of brain tumours.
What you will do:
As a Public Collections Volunteer, your responsibilities will include:
- Standing outside supermarkets, racecourses, or other public venues with a collection bucket and credit card terminal, following the guidance of Brain Tumour Research staff
- Engaging with the public in a friendly and respectful manner to ask for donations
- Speaking to as many people as possible to maximize income and raise awareness within the community
- Wearing provided identification to signify your role as an authorised collector and volunteer for Brain Tumour Research
- Registering as a collector at the venue prior to your shift
- Adhering to Brain Tumour Research guidelines to minimise the risk of theft and ensure personal safety
- Handing over collected funds to the designated person at the end of your shift
- Ensuring that you do not obstruct customers or staff during your collection
- Accepting rejection gracefully and not taking it personally
