Singing sensation Lyra Cole, whose charity single for Brain Tumour Research has touched the hearts of the nation has sent a special thank you message to everyone who has supported her so far.
The six-year-old from Somerset who had surgery for a brain tumour as a five-month-old baby, is being quoted by the bookies today as the fourth favourite to be number one on the UK Official Christmas Chart – what an incredible achievement.
Her cover of When A Child Is Born held onto the top spot on the Amazon download chart for nine consecutive days but has been pipped to the top spot today by rapper Stormzy’s new release Audacity.
Lyra’s single and her charming music video received widespread media coverage and celebrity support from far and wide including a very special video message from Sir Cliff Richard who has also covered the Christmas classic. It also prompted unprecedented numbers of donations to a special appeal page on our website.
With more new releases coming out over the next few days the race for the coveted Christmas number one is hotting up. Come on Lyra, let’s all join together to get you to number one!
