Team raises incredible £10,000 with 10,000 steps challenge

A team that took part in our 10,000 Steps a Day in February challenge has raised more than £10,000 to help find a cure for brain tumours.

Nadia Majid and her 15-strong team of relatives raised the incredible total in memory of Nadia’s beloved son Rayhan, who died from a grade 3 medulloblastoma on Saturday 7th April 2018, at the age of just four years old.

Last year, Nadia and husband Sarfraz set up a Fundraising Group, which they called Remembering Rayhan, to help find a cure in their son’s memory.

Nadia said: I want to say a huge thank you to everybody who donated or shared what we were doing. We received 362 donations and really raised awareness for Remembering Rayhan and the brain tumour cause. I am really humbled every time anyone does something in Rayhan’s memory, even now five years after we lost him."

“I loved doing the challenge and never found it mundane. And I had lots of little signs from Rayhan in the form of rainbows, robins, and white feathers. It was lovely to have a purpose and a target, as well as the camaraderie of walking with family and neighbours. In fact, it was so good we are going to do it all again next year!”

There’s still time to support Team Remembering Rayhan by donating via www.justgiving.com/team/WalkForRayhan
