International Brain Tumour Awareness Week

1 min read

Now in its fourteenth year, this annual event is a celebration of awareness-raising activities that sees the international brain tumour community uniting to draw attention to the particular challenges of brain tumours and the need for a special response and an increased research effort.

This special week will be taking place from Saturday 24th October 2020 to Saturday 31st October 2020 and once again is championed by The International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA) who are also the force behind the biennial World Summit of Brain Tumour Patient Advocates.

Our Head of Stakeholder Relations, Hugh Adams, who has attended all four of these summits and is aware of the global picture, urged the worldwide community to support this awareness-raising week.

He said: “I really would encourage any brain tumour patient advocate, anywhere in the world, to organise or take part in activity this week that will contribute to increased awareness about brain tumours. The work of IBTA has made the brain tumour community more connected and it has been a huge privilege to join with friends across the globe in our united aims to improve those diagnosed with a brain tumour. This week is crucial to that and I really look forward to following the week on social media to see what is going on around the world.”
