A Halloween party last weekend for a much-loved son, grandson, brother and uncle, lost aged 31 in December 2022 due to an aggressive brain stem glioma, launched our new Fundraising Group Colours of Hope.
The spooktacular event held in Coalville near Leicester, attended by around 150 friends and family, raised more than £4,600 in memory of Dale Hudson (pictured top centre), who died just 12 weeks after his diagnosis.
His sister Leanne (pictured far right above), along with family, has set up Colours of Hope in memory of her “outgoing and flamboyant brother – so full of fun and life”.
She said: “Dale loved dressing up and partying, so we’ve always enjoyed a good time at Halloween. Last year we held our first Halloween party without Dale and it was very emotional. This year, we had such a fun time – it was absolutely brilliant – that we’ve booked to do it all again next year!
“Of course, Dale was never far from our thoughts as we shared lots of fond memories and the DJ played his favourite music – anything Pink or Motown particularly. We’d also stuffed his Sasquatch/Bigfoot costume which he wore one year at Halloween and took photos of ourselves standing by it – so it almost felt like Dale was with us.”
The incredible sum of £4,600 was raised through selling raffle tickets to win one of 45 exciting prizes.
Along with dancing and revelry, guests were entertained by a drag queen who poignantly gave his services free of charge because his partner’s niece, aged two, has been diagnosed with grade 4 brain cancer.
We would like to extend a very warm welcome to Colours of Hope as they join our Fundraising Group family.
