A Madness tribute event was the latest in a series of fundraisers for Brain Tumour Research.
Gig-goers were entertained last Friday (12th May) with hits from the popular band performed by Complete Madness, the UK’s number one Madness tribute band. City Couriers Direct Ltd organised the evening which saw Eastwood CFC in Nottingham transformed into a House of Fun to help find a cure for brain tumours.
The organisation’s support of Brain Tumour Research comes after Managing Director Darryl Claypole’s son Tom was diagnosed with the disease in 2021.
Tom was diagnosed with a glioblastoma (GBM) in 2021 after he suffered a seizure. The dad-of-two underwent surgery which removed a “substantial” part of the tumour, followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. His family has pledged to raise £100,000 over three years.
As well as the Madness tribute night, City Couriers Direct has hosted a number of fundraising events over recent months taking their overall total to more than £16,000. These have included taking part in Wear A Hat Day, as well as a charity walking football match.
