Dying Matters Awareness Week is a chance to open up the conversation around death, dying and bereavement.
A campaign run by Hospice UK, every year people around the UK use Dying Matters Awareness Week to encourage communities to talk about death in a way that works for them. This year’s campaign, taking place from 6th to 12th May, focuses on “how we talk about Dying Matters”.
Talking about death and dying is understandably difficult, but making sure your loved ones know your wishes can make it easier. This can include letting your family know you’d like funeral donations to your chosen charity, setting up a tribute fund in memory of a loved one or updating your will to include a gift to charity after you’ve looked after your family and friends.
What’s more, by thinking about your options now, you could make a real difference in years to come. By supporting Brain Tumour Research in memory of your loved ones or as part of your own wishes, your generosity could help to spare future families the pain of losing someone close.
