Following her diagnosis and treatment of a rare brain tumour, supporter Sara Crosland has published an inspiring new book charting her triumph over adversity.
In Sickbed to Summits, Sara documents the ups and downs of life with a brain tumour diagnosis. She details her gruelling treatment, life-threatening complications, and her extraordinary road to recovery to return to living life to the full and embracing every opportunity.
In 2018, Sara was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma – a low-grade brain tumour that affects around one in 100,000 people. Following a brain haemorrhage and major surgery, the active mum-of-three was left unable to walk, with impaired vision and balance, and permanent profound hearing loss.
Despite the challenges she faced, Sara defied the odds to trek the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, complete a 15,000ft skydive and, in July, she completed a 55km solo run challenge to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.
Sickbed to Summits has been featured in the Chester Standard, and early reader reviews describe the book as ‘motivational and inspirational’ and ‘a must read’.
