Today we are cheering on Josh Burniston as he finishes the final one of his 12 marathons in 12 days, having raised almost £7,000 This incredible feat was inspired by Josh’s friend Andi Peel, who died earlier this year from a glioblastoma (GBM) brain tumour, aged 30.
Andi’s mum Linda said: “Andi was the perfect son; he was kind, considerate, and he was really brave towards the end. Josh is amazing for doing this challenge in Andi’s memory. I also think he was a bit mad too, but I know Andi would have been more than proud of him for doing this.”
Josh, 26, began his epic challenge on Friday 1st December and alternated between running a marathon, rowing, skiing and cycling a marathon, repeating each three times. He did the running around Leicester and Rutland Water, but the other disciplines in the gym where he works as a personal trainer.
Inviting people to come and cheer him on, Josh said: “It will be tough, but what Andi went through was 10 times harder.”
