International Brain Tumour Awareness Week 2024

2 min read

An annual campaign to raise awareness of the challenges and difficulties of a brain tumour diagnosis begins today (Saturday 26th October).

International Brain Tumour Awareness Week calls on individuals and organisations to raise awareness for brain tumour patients and fundraise for research into this devastating disease.

Brain Tumour Research supports the campaign which was started by the International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA). The organisation has been working globally since 2005 to improve conditions for brain tumour patients, the organisations that support them, and neuro-oncology researchers working to find a cure for all types of brain tumours.

As well as helping to establish brain tumour patient groups in countries where they don’t yet exist, IBTA helps shape health and research policy across the world.

While our work continues year-round, International Brain Tumour Awareness Week is a chance to focus on bringing our message and cause to the rest of the world. To get involved, you could post awareness messages on social media, hold community events to raise funds, and contact local media to share your story with the wider world. IBTA have resources on their website to help you in raising awareness.

You can also choose to make a donation, however big or small, to help fund our vital research and campaigning efforts in the UK and bring us a step closer to finding a cure.
