A leading consultancy firm has pledged to support Brain Tumour Research for a whole year after a colleague’s wife was diagnosed with the disease.
Gobeyond Partners will kick off the year-long partnership by taking part in our 10,000 Steps a Day in February Challenge. More than 80 employees voted to support Brain Tumour Research after the wife of management consultant, Dafydd Hobbs suffered a relapse of her brain tumour.
Charlotte Hobbs (pictured with Dafydd) was first diagnosed with a grade 3 anaplastic astrocytoma in 2010 after suffering a seizure. In October 2020, she was given the devastating news that the tumour had returned and she would need further surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Charlotte raised more than £10,000 for the charity herself by taking part in 100 Star Jumps a Day in November, which she completed whilst undergoing chemotherapy.
Now, Gobeyond is doing its bit to help fund the fight by taking on a different fundraising challenge each month, which will include: Wear a Hat Day in March, Isle of Wight Randonnée in July, Walk of Hope in September, and even skydiving, in a bid to raise £13,700, which represents the equivalent amount it costs to sponsor five days of research at one of our Centres of Excellence.
Charity lead and principal consultant, Richard Davis, said: “Gobeyond Partners is delighted to partner with Brain Tumour Research in 2022 to raise funds for critical research and help find a cure for this underfunded and indiscriminate cancer.”
