A brain tumour patient has written a collection of poems which he hopes will raise vital funds to help find a cure.
Paul King, known to his friends as Dixie, has written My Pensive Moods, a heartfelt collection of more than 50 poems which share his thoughts and emotions during his battle with brain cancer. Dixie hopes his work will help other cancer patients and their families while raising funds for Brain Tumour Research.
Dixie, 55, was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) brain tumour in September 2019. He has undergone multiple surgeries, as well as radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Knowing that his time is limited, Dixie turned to writing poetry to express his love for his wife Jules, children and grandchildren.
Dixie said: “I hope that my poems will benefit other cancer patients who can’t or don’t know how to express their emotions and I hope that the sales of My Pensive Moods will help to raise vital funds for research into the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under the age of 40. The least I can do is give something back and hopefully help others who are struggling to let their loved ones know their inner-most feelings.”
