Our Member Charity Astro Brain Tumour Fund is hosting its 14th annual Norfolk Family Walk.
The Norfolk Family Walk is the biggest event in the charity’s fundraising calendar and is growing in popularity every year. In 2019, more than 200 walkers raised more than £12,000 from sponsorships and generous donations.
Taking place on Sunday 4th October from 10 am-4 pm, the event is held at the Holkham Hall Estate where walkers can take in the beautiful parkland, lake and woodland scenery as they go. Participants can choose their distance – one, three, six or 10 miles – to suit all ages and abilities. There is a £5 registration fee, and participants can raise money for a brain tumour charity of their choice. More information can be found here.
Astro Brain Tumour Fund was founded by Katie Sheen, whose sister’s husband Paul Chamberlain was diagnosed with an astrocytoma brain tumour in 2000. The charity was set up due to the lack of research into low-grade tumours in the UK, to raise money and encourage more low-grade glioma research, and to offer hope, information and support to families living with the disease.
