We are delighted to welcome a new Fundraising Group to our family. Hannah’s Kingdom has been set up by Hannah King-Page, who is living with a brain tumour, and is “committed to raising awareness of the injustices faced by brain tumour patients and to funding vital research, as well as campaigning to bring about better outcomes for patients.”
Learning that she had a glioblastoma (GBM) in November 2020 led to Hannah enduring surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. At the age of 39, she was forced to retire from her dream job as a physiotherapist.
In 2021, Hannah (pictured right) and her long-term partner Andrew decided to get married, even though she looked “bloated and bald” from her treatment which included being on steroids and gaining five stone in weight.
Hannah is working hard on her fitness and goes to the gym regularly. Last year she and her friend Ranjit (pictured left) ran the Solihull half marathon and raised more than £2,000 for Brain Tumour Research.
Now ready to face the heat of Hannah’s Kingdom’s first official event – a firewalk with the challenge to walk barefoot over hot embers reaching temperatures of 800 degrees – Hannah is inviting people to join her and friends and family who have already signed up. The event will take place on Friday 30th June at The Strawberry Bank, a pub, hotel and restaurant, in Meriden near Coventry. If you feel inspired to conquer the coals alongside Hannah’s Kingdom, you can sign up here. Will you feel the heat to help find a cure?
