Hundreds of people are stepping out today on Brain Tumour Research’s Walks of Hope across the UK. And those walking are united by a common cause – to help find a much-needed cure for this most devastating of diseases. Many know all too well the pain of a brain tumour diagnosis and, sadly, many are walking in memory of those they have lost. Among them are the family of Colin Reid who died just last month having being diagnosed with an astrocytoma six weeks after his 50th birthday in July 2017.
Colin, who is pictured with his wife Carol Ann and daughters Mollie and Mhairi, was regional general manager for XPO Logistics in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Carol Ann, along with a group of friends, colleagues and neighbours, is stepping out on today’s Cobbler Walk of Hope, a seven mile trek taking in the stunning scenery of the Southern Highlands.
Walks are also taking place in Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, Bristol, Warwickshire, the North East, and there are two events in London, one at Battersea and the other around the Olympic Park.
